Health and Dental Insurance Plans

Health and dental plans vary significantly between insurance companies and the customer’s requirements. Below are some estimated coverage amounts from most major insurance companies. These values are based on basic health and dental coverage. Note that most plans are upgradeable to ensure higher coverage percentages.

Dental
- 50% to 80% average coverage on cleanings, scaling, cavities
- 40% to 50% oral surgery coverage (usually not applicable for first year)
- 40% to 80% periodontics  (usually not applicable for first year)
- 40% to 80% root canal and other endodontic requirements (usually not applicable for first year)
- 40% to 80% orthodontics coverage (usually not applicable for first 1 to 2 years)
- 40% to 80% coverage for crowns, bridges and dentures  (often not applicable for first 1 to 2 years)

Medical
- 50% to 80% coverage on prescription drugs
- Drug coverage typically has a maximum dollar amount set to it
- Coverage is based on generic brand drugs
- Some plans offer a lower percentage for the first $250 to $750 spent on drugs, and then increase the coverage amount thereafter
